Got it off Ron (rhms8)
IT plays great, it looks great, the hardware is great, and the sound is EXCELLENT! I dont care what others say about the Carvin pups, I think they are great. I dont even know what models are in this particular (the guy I bought it from didnt know much of the specs) and didnt have the orig invoice or anything. But compared to the Jackson SL2H I recently sold, it sounds much better under clean sounds (Ive owned roughly 20 guitars, and honestly I owned a DC127 for one week 3 years ago, and alongside a Peavey Wolfgang, they were the best sounding, and the wolf didnt do cleans overly well). The phase and Coil tap offer great versatility.
This is a trial though, I dont know if Im going to keep it. The fit and finish and overall guitar is awesome, but I DONT know if I'll adjust to the 25" scale or not. I'm already having issues playing in the upper frets. The soloing techniques and fingerings I have always used, are now missing frets and my fingers dont know where they are. Not sure if im being overly anal, but I owe it to Carvin to give the guitar a fair trial. I always complained how they offered everythign I want, except that 25.5" scale.
I'll likely lose a lot of money on this try-out if I dont keep it (70$ on import fee's ASIDE from the $ I had to pony up), but if I do, it was money well spent, as this guitar looks like it will last a LONG time!
Here's a link to some pictures I just took
