John Mayer Signature Strat??

I've been wondering if there was anything actually new from Summer NAMM. So I check out HC and find this - http://namm.harmony-central.com/SNAM...sig-Strat.html
I can't believe this guy got a sig. Strat - and a USA at that! When I first saw the headline, I assumed it would be a Mexi but no, it's a USA. And it doesn't even have anything particulary special about it other than unique pups. I....I.......I can't think of anything else to say, I'm speechless.

At this point it wouldn't surprise me if the monkey from the Banana Splits had a signature strat from Fender....f*ck it'd be easier to list who doesn't have one!!

John is also a very loyal Fender Strat player. He mentions how much he likes them in almost every interview. His favorite is the SRV sig strat. Seems like a pretty cool guy. I saw him on a Dave Chapelle variety show where Dave and him went around and played music for different groups of people. It was REALLY funny.

eh, and at least it's got a satin finish on the neck and the sig is on the back of the headstock. granted, i'm not running out to get one, but that's kinda cool.

This could not have been said better. Fender is a large corporation that tends to its bottom line. They would make a Britney Spears signature strat if they thought it would sell enough units.

He is a local guy. He used to take guitar lessons from Chris Rissola from Steelheart and I believe he is also a Berklee grad. I would guess that he is probably pretty good on guitar. He is from Fairfield CT.
