WX7 is it just me or is that the only one youve seen signed don, all of the ones ive seen were signed SCREAMING LEAMING, could it be someone else who painted it? especially since the guitar was built in 82, painted & signed 83?

      [/ QUOTE ]

No J.....Don was signing them with his first name before he took on the "Screamin" Leaming moniker. I believe it was around this time, and that does look like Don's style (but like I said with more practice, and time, he got a lot better. I've seen two others of his graphics signed "Don Leaming" and both were around the same time frame as this Warlock is from ('83-ish).

That is a scary story Kurt! That's one of my worst freekin' nightmares (having an axe that I love ripped off)...sorry to hear it!

            Actually...It's funny.

After seeing it again and pouring out the story. I don't care anymore!!! It's kinda like closure.

In any case the guitar would not belong to me anymore anyway...it would belong to the insurance company, since I was paid out (and fairly) on the 2 guitars.

The person it would hurt is the current owner and most probably, he did not steal it.

I called the Azusa Police Dept. last night anyway, just to see if they still had records on it and they told me 'Are you serious? We don't keep records on theft for 22 years!'

Back in the late 80's I had a better version of that guitar custom made for me. A black 2 hum, floyd with the full electronics harness...also ebony board and cloud inlays, matching black 3 on a side headstock. I still have her and she's perfect.

and yeah, his black custom shop warlock is amazing and cool. everything that a warlock should be, this one is. i had no idea you got it in the 80s, though, it looked minty fresh when i got to check it out.

                          Re: How about this Warlock?

well, i do know for a fact that this is a TX-bought guitar, my best buddy bought this in '87 when he was 17 from a dude in Houston who was a really good guitar player and the original owner (also FROM Houston, and was purchased with graphic already) who just happened to end up with addictions and selling it to my bud really cheap...and the Kahler was installed by Rick from Bateman Music in Houston in 1988, i saw the recept for that right after I met him, so that will debunk this being a stolen guitar theory...but anyway, i think this being one of Leaming's early designs before he got better and started using the "screaming" prefix to his name makes this one even more of a rarity and more valuable...

Not really. From the trend in the used market(which I am watching very closely for almost a year now) Leaming paintjobs add exactly 0(zero) to the value of the guitar. Clear-finished BC Richs are desirable and collectable, not Leaming graphics.

I can't see how a really crappy graphic would add value, I think it detracts from the value.
