• Baritone Guitars?

    Hey guys,

I've been playing in B standard for awhile now, but I don't like the way it feels on my short scale Gibson. It's either too loose or the string is too big. I like the way it feels on a 7 string, but I don't like the feel of playing one (neck too wide). Can anyone recommend a good Baritone 6 string guitar? I don't know many companies off the top of my head that makes em. Thanks!

Yeah, isn't the Jackson DK27 REALLY friggin' cheap these days? Something like $275 or less. Discontinued model now, I believe, according to the latest pricelist.

Wow, never even looked at the imports. When did that happen! And when did they discontinue it! Whoa Thanks though, that seems perfect. Just need a little something to throw around. Oh man, I've got such a killer idea for a custom shop, and in 5-6 weeks I'll know if I can go through with it. Baritone Rhoads w/ cutouts, 24 frets and Iommi cross inlays!

            sounds like a sweet custom

There's indeed the Jackson DK27 which would be a great option.. just checked, a DK27 in the Netherlands would be 770 euro! damn country..

ESP has various LTD models that are Bariton: http://www.espguitars.com/guitars_baritone.htm

Epiphone has a Baritone Les Paul: http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAM...-Baritone.html

and Ibanez has the MMM1 (http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAM...z/PR/MMM1.html) which has a 28" scale instead of the 27"

Wow, those ESP Baritones aren't that bad for the $ MF and Music123 are asking. The specs for the DK27 aren't on the site. I'm assuming it's bolt on, rosewood boards, duncan designed pickups?

Some guy on ebay was trying to dump a brand new one CHEAP (less than $200). I couldn't figure out what no one wanted it.

The newer DK27s also come with DiMarzio pups instead of the EMG HZs.

Gibson makes a GREAT baritone LP. Played one in a music store that was a bit cheaper than what musiciansfriend is asking.

The Schecter ones play quite nicely too, and they're set neck. Only Duncan Designed pups, but they play okay. Nice neck too.
