      Re: Your favorite headstocks?

Why does everybody hate the SLS? My guess is that the pointy heads helped to define the first Jackson guitars you all fell in love with when you first discovered the brand (as was the case with me)? I used to firmly believe that all Jacksons had to have sharkfins and a pointy.

now, especially after seeing the cool alternative inlays and SLS headstocks on Mike/Matt's 7s, I don't really give a sh*t about the pointy. These days, all I need is for it to look cool and match or flow with the guitar.

Depending on the rest of the guitar, I like:
the big old-style stratheads on traditional strat shapes
SLS style on most 7 string metal guitars
I'm 50/50 with pointies/SLS on 6 string metal guitars. The pointy is really starting to bore me, seeing how every other company has one. Though those Horizons do look cool!

reverse small Strathead, I'd like to find an old 24-fret HMM Strat with a single humbucker adn a FR with that type of neck & headstock...

plus, I also want to trade out my Am Std Strat righty neck for an lefty Am Std Strat neck of the same (or close to it) year(w/ rosewood FB)...

although the early BCR reverse headstocks on the American Warlocks are pretty damn gothic looking too for those body shapes, badass...
