• Schaller v. Grover v. locking tuners

I'm going to be putting a set of tuners on a Tele I'm redoing, and I'm curious if anyone has experience with Grover tuners. are they as good as Schallers? I see they cost about 3/5 of what Schallers do. I have 3 guitars with replacement Schallers on them, they are awesome, but I was considering some variety for this latest project. this is of course a non-trem guitar.

also, what about locking tuners? anyone use those? how easy are they to re-string and tune? how do people like them vs. regular high-quality tuners? which are better, the ones that lock on the back or on the top of the post?

thanks for any info...

Grover locking tuners fit the jackson/charvel guitars without modification and seem to work very good.I highly recommend them.
I got some recently for a good price on E-bay-warpdrivemusic.

the schaller locking tuners on my Petrucci are freaking awesome, and its a breeze to re-string, because you don't have to make more than one wind around the post! you string through post, pull, lock and wind whatever's left!
