Re: Battle of the V\'s

Jackson roundhorn V's. I tried getting into the RR's, have a few but I just can't get into them

This will be the last V that I'll own and doubt I'll ever get rid of her

I have several Gibson Vs and have been very happy with them. I also have owned a couple of Jackson KVs. But the most impressive V I've owned (just traded it to JohnnyMac) was a Hilda Custom Shop Flying V made in Barvaria. It's light, has tone to the bone, and the setup is ideal for sweeping. My digital camera has crapped out, I'm sure he'll be posting pics soon.

Sadly to say, I used to be one of the Admins at Fans Unite, the official Megadeth site. When Fartstaine decided to regenerate Megadeth.com and Davemustaine.com, we decided not to continue funding the site. I've tried several times to get the Admins here at JCF to change my screenname, but apparently it can't be done. So, to answer your question, I'm not on any Deth forums that I'll admit to. RR, KV and Hamer Scepter V for metal, Gibson for rock and blues.

Re: Battle of the V\'s

I'm a Gibson purist when it comes to Vs. I just really love that big pickguard and that classic look.

none of the other makers Vs come close to the original for me. although some of those Jackson roundhorn Vs look very nice.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

Re: Battle of the V\'s

At this point I am in love with the Gibson fadded black V that just came out. I have played the fadded cherry one and loved it. I can't wait to how the black one looks. I figure the fadded V's are more cost effective as they are the same damn thing as the regular Gibson V's with glossy finishes. The Gibson V's fit me better and have the best balance out of all the V's I've tried including Washburn, Fernandes, Dean, Etc. One day I may have one in my hot little hands.

Definately Gibson V's are my favorite even though I have never really owned one.

But this is probably my favorite at the moment:
