I wouldn't get too greedy because if you do, you might end up with nothing.

That's exactly right, Noodles.
If you're actually going to give it up, and I think you're nuts for doing so, get the most you can for it, dollar value wise.

Like I said, Mr. Gillis can get these guitars. He's in a position to have people do him favors like that.

What's in it for you?

I disagree with the 'money-hungry' pack of wolves that posted here! j/k

If you look upto this guy, try to get a guitar you would just love owning. Imho historical/sentimental and emotional value of an instrument is 10x that of its worth in cash.

An instrument owned by the actual artist might be of even greater value (sentimentally).

Not true, since he owns the guitar that someone else wants, not the other way around. He asked for a autograph, not a sale. I don't think Brad is the type of guy that won't sign the guitar just because he is refusing to sell it, and if Brad is, then maybe I have too high of an opinion of him.

Nothing's etched in stone yet, but I'm leaning toward something like

#1 Fender

A San Dimas Jackson

An LP (pref. the Floyded one)

I'm going to ask him what he's willing to offer. If we can't come to a common ground, than so be it.

Most definately. Name any artist's guitar versus a production model, and on both fronts it's a hands down no contest. I just don't what that flowery thingy (Fender)

Keep in mind that the Collect Guitars site isn't specifically current. Brad K's page on that section isn't even half of his collection. (he's asked me to build a page for him on my site) And there's another collection on that site where I see what could possibly be a guitar that I have in my possession.
