My new korina V

I gotta say, I got this on a whim, and its one of the best sounding guitars Ive ever has the pleasure of playing. Seems to be one piece of Korina, (or at least a 1 piece veneer.) [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
Anyway, just thought Id share...
Its a Dillion. Supposed made where the Korean Tokai's are made which probably means made where Korean epiphones are made [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] Seems better than any epiphone Ive evr played tho.....

It was sold and advertised as Korina and they advertise a natural Korina finish on their site. I dunno... I just found out this color was made for the canadian market.

As far as I know Dillion Vs are alder with Korina veneer on the top and back with a Maple neck. I might be mistaken, though somehow I doubt it.

Technically, wasn't "Korina" actually the name they gave for the finish. I mean, the wood is actually black limba. A lot of the natural finish black limba guitars got called korina, kind of like a nickname. Of course, I could be way off. I thought I heard it went like that, though.

Black limba is actually not the name of the wood, at least not the one we know as the Gibson Korina finish. It is white limba.

I opened up the pickguard, and thats what the grain looks like inside. I dont see a veneer, so maybe.......??
i do see at least 1 glue line, so its at least 2 pieces.

Id like to know if it is..... or not....Im aware that some Dillion's are alder and Im ok it it is...... Either way, it sounds great and I cant wait to get it to the stage.

Honestly who cares if it's korina or not. I like the sunburst better than the look of plain korina anyway. Nice looking V!
