Sub 300 dollar guitar

Hey my friend is looking to pickup guitar. He wants to spend 300 dollars or less on a guitar shipped. Do you guys have any ideas? I found some stuff, but maybe theres something that I haven't thought about.

Hes into metal and mostly bands like Unearth, Between the Buried and Me, Trivium etc..
NO FLOYDS, and NO KAHLERS.

There's a few. All brand new. If he's willing to buy used, just look on ebay, there's all kinds of options.
