Robin guitars, anyone own one here?

I was flipping through an old magazine I have, and found an ad for Robin guitars, it was an ad that had a bunch of different shaped strat, and firebird type guitars, botl on and neck through
some of them looked to have incredible woods, and then went on the bay, and found this, incredible top!

I have a Robin Medley with a factory graphic (bloody ax). Great guitars and can usually be had pretty cheap. The exotic tops seem to fetch a bit more though.

Robins are awesome, right up there with USA Jackson in my opinion. I have 11 of them. Check out their vintage catalogs links.

If I could find one anymore cheap, I'd snap it up! I've passed by the factory, but never been in there, although I'd like to raid their trash can for any blem parts!!!!!! But they make the Rio Grande pickups, and those are some High quality pickups, I bought a BBQ Bucker for my SG copy, and that thing RIPS!!

I have plaayed a few Robins and they all were very impressive. That was in the 90's. I would be interested in checking them out at NAMM this winter. If they are there.

I used to own a pearloid top Medley. I was a very nice, I just couldn't get past the v shaped headstock opted to sell it.

I don't own one but I used to live in Houston where they are at. They have a store called Rockin Robin's. They had hundreds of them there, it was a pretty good store so I used to go in there a lot and drool over them and play them, I never came across a dud and I had to played over 50 of them. The USA models are great instruments no doubt. If you are not interested in resale value then they are really cool, you can find them for cheap because not everyone knows about them

I'd love to play a Machete....I always thought they were really cool looking. I love that "stairsteped" body style, with the shark headstock. I didn't care much for Slaughter, but it was Tim Kelly (RIP [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]) who brought them into the spotlight back in the day.

I've seen a few pass by on the bay, but nothing that I've really wanted.
