Hmmmmmmmm....it doesn't look like it was broken all the way through, but, it did receive some kind of trauma.

Me, personally, I'd walk......there's lots of LPC's out there......with no headstock damage.

That's arguably one of the drawbacks of having a neck headstock constructed that way....

I don't know how that could be repaired...I know for regular breaks, they sometimes graft splines into the neck and clamp/glue to reinforce the broken area.

That's just my opinion tho....do what you feel is right....

Unless you get that guitar really cheap, I would move on to a mintyer one, there are some sweet ones out there. Jack.

the problem is, it is a les paul custom lite and very rare, he said it is just stress cracks from when the nut was replaced. he payed 1200 for it and would give it to me for 1400 shipped. but if you guys think that is more then stress i am staying away.

I don't honestly see how by simply replacing a nut it would sustain that damage...unless Gilla Gorilla was the prefered luthier

So, basically, he's saying he probably bought an undamaged LPC Light for $1200 and wants you to pay $1400 for a damaged one

Fuck him.....that's again, just my opinion.....

ide get some better pics, its doesnt look cracked just like the headstock overlay may have lifted some, maybe even just the binding around it. the neck looks like its not cracked at all. if thats the case its not bad, especially if the price is right.

[/ QUOTE ] That's what it looks like to me too. Is that the worst of it? What does the other side look like? The same?

exactly, talk about a transparently shitty deal.

I'd probably feel a lot better about the purchase if I could physically see/feel the damage up close and personal.

With it a buy and ship deal...I'd be apprehensive.

I dunno....I wouldn't do it....but, again, that's me...and I'll probably never buy another Les Paul of any flavor...I have the Custom and that's enough.....

I personaly think he bought it that way and it started to drive him crazy. The guy before him ended the auction at 1200 to sell to him.

I'm by no means saying that the guitar isn't worth anything, I just don't think it's worth $1400 with just a vague picture of what could be a minor or major flaw in the guitar.

Leaves a lot of room to be screwed over.....

But, again, I'm not in the market for another Gibson...don't want or need another

You could get a used standard in pretty damn good condition for $1400. I'd walk on this one.

I'd get it. In fact if I can juggle some funds around before the end of the auction I am getting this guitar.
