I didn't find any OFR Strats on Fender's site, but they've got this one with locking Fedner/Floyd trem which is a little better than their standard trems. http://www.fender.com/products/searc...tno=0101592764

I've modified my lonestar strat, similiar to that. I put locking machine head and an LSR nut on it. That's as far as I'll go with this strat, but the S-1 switch looks interesting also.

        Nice, thanks

Now, to modify a regular strat, can it be done?

Don, yes.. they are easily modified for an OFR. I would get a body that has the older six screw std trem instead if the 2 point trem on the newer ones.

Here's one I parted together, its a mighty-mite body and 97 USA neck.

I'm really diggin the USA Fender necks and just scored another maple/maple and building an Artic white one, it will have an OFR on it too

Nice. How does it sound? I'm curious about the Strat/Floyd setup/sound.

Buy a USED floyd rose strat from the 80s. They are japanese made, and go for $400ish. I've owned two and a USA floyd rose classic... I prefer the japanese versions.

Played one of those USA Floyd Rose classic, pretty nice IMO. But most of them i've came across have stress crack on the neck pocket. Maybe it's due to the floyd or the age, not sure.

Btw, all the USA Floyd Rose classic i've came across are maple board. Therefore, were there any USA Floyd Rose Classic that are NOT maple board?

I believe the Floyd Rose Classic came in four varieties; H/S/S or H/H with your choice of maple or rosewood fretboard.

I also seem to remember a model from the late 90´s with a big 70´s headstock and a Floyd, but that one might have been of mexican origin.

The thing that I noticed is at the time was the only Fender Strats with Floyds were 21 fret necks :|
