Mills his own bridges and pickup bezels even! I'm sure these things are in the $4000 range, but sheesh!

      Good night...

I'm glad I'm not into the high end LP-style of guitars, because there are just too many awesome builders out there right now, ready to take my money.

We had a thread on these not too long ago.

        Great guitars.

I think my boner for PRS's and all these PRS clones has died off. At first they were cool, but now it is starting to feel like everyone runs their own boutique PRS-clone shop.

They all look amazing, and I'm sure they sound and play just as well, but it seems like it's getting a little silly to me.

I agree with PaddoK. This stuff is real heavy on the bling and I've never been too into it, but it seems really derivative lately. Plus I think I kind of realized that I like plain old Les Pauls the most.

I've seen those before, and I'm sure they play great... the horns just make it look like a PRS that had birth defects, though.

Beautiful guitars, he's been around about as long as McNaught I think, he only just recently started to get some recognition though. His guitars aren't even close to as expensive as McNaught. If you get a crazy inlay it can get to the 4k+ range I am sure but if memory serves they start at 2800 and go from there. Average being about 3400? That was 4 years ago though. Might have been some inflation.

That Cocobolo guitar he built is astounding. One of the most difficult woods to work with I'm told but damned if it doesn't look incredible as an end product.

These belong to some guy off another Forum. Yeah Driskill has been around a while. Prices are not out of sight for what you get(as long as you don't go too exotic), I think his wait times are about 2 years now.

Come and get one in the yarbles, if you have any yarbles, you yunick jelly thou!

Those 2 guitars have some of the nicest quilt I have ever seen . It looks fake...

Definitely not fake check out the raw top pictures he has on the site. Plus he sands the color out of each blister and re dyes the top several times to get that intense "pop out" blister effect. Its very cool. Same thing with McNaught and PRS (though PRS tops aren't as nice as Driskill or McNaught tops IMO).

I have to agree big time. There are waaaay too many derivative PRS designs out there right now: McNaught, Warrior, Baker, Jaros, and all of Ed Roman's brands just to name a few off the top of my head. Dean even entered the fray. They are some spectacular looking instruments, but I tend to not pay any attention to them anymore. Lets see something groundbreaking for a change...I know there are a few companies that qualify but not many.

Is the one on the left also a Driskill? That one's really cool!! I couldn't find that or any other body shape on their site besides the one on the right.
