From the pic it looks like the screws go through the guard.

Well it arrived today. I'll post some pics tomorrow. Great player. The neck is thinner than an Axis but not quite as thin as a Petrucci. I'm impressed with the overall quality of it. Also, for those concerned, the lack of body contours isn't even noticeable. Very comfortable.

The last picture is of the nut. Is it compensated? I'm just curious why it is shaped like this. I've never seen this before.

Oh, and the plastic is still on the pickguard. It is completely clear without it.

Someone asked for a pic of the top without the plastic on the pickguard. This is a premium top, which is a cost upgrade. Probably not worth it in retrospect. The standard tops I've seen are beautiful as well. The pickups are mounted to the guard, not into the body.

Those are sweet looking guitars! Does anyone know if Steve is going to start playing this model regularly? Last time I saw him (earlier this year) he used his old #1 for most of the set, and played a Y2D for only one song.
