The person playing makes it easy, not the guitar

seriously, any decent guitar can be set-up properly for "easy and effortless" playing.

To me it doesn't matter, fat neck (i prefer) skinny neck, Jumbos, mediums, it doesnt matter. I have to admit that the polka-dot V was hard for me to adjust to at first because I was an all strat type player but once I got used to it it was no prob.

I dunno Shawn. Pretty much any guitar with vintage Fender frets and vintage 7 1/4" radius is very uncomfortable for me.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

I gotta disagree with shawn. A shorter scale length (Gibson) is going to be easier to play than a longer one (Fender) given eveything else is the same (action, string gauge, tuning, fret size, etc.)

My LP Custom is easily the best playing guitar I have ever expeienced, followed up by my Rand guitars.

I have to agree with Shawn. When I was in the Marines, there was a guy on the ship that had a Squire Strat that played amazingly. It could have been one of the Japanese ones, but still. That guitar played rings around my the Ibanez RG560 that I had at the time, which was very good (one of the first generation ones, 1988 ish). A Squire is not a guitar you'd expect to play perfectly and have low, buzz free action. A correct setup makes all the difference in the world. I think good fretwork is the key.

My EBMM Steve Morse and my old Charvel Model 88 kick the clams out of anything else in my little collection. They are completely different guitars but nothing I have ever owned comes close to those two.

Mike, are you referring to the one I got from you? Not that I'm trying to rub it in, but I fuggin' love that axe. I'll start playing it and get all into playing. Then I'll think about myself getting carried away, bouncing it off something, and immediately hating myself. It then goes promptly back in the guitar stand for the next day.

A "Lotus" strat copy, it was a vanilla/creme color and can't find them(Lotus)anymore.

Over the years I've had many come and go.
The lotus was an accident really, well sort of.
I was in a shop out of Indy many years back having no intentions to buy anything. There with a buddy who was the serious buyer that day. I was browsing all alone and saw the lotus hanging. I never heard of Lotus before and grabbed it down and played it. Surprisingly, it was one of those rare ocassions, it felt nice and balanced, played wonderfully smooth. My buddy came by me and asked, what was I playing and I said this Lotus. He proceeded to tell me how they was a piece of crap guitars. I said, maybe you should play this one before you make any further comments. He did and was very surprised as I was. To conclude, it was under $450.00 with the case I got it for $400.00 without the case. I was my main guitar for years, it was a single humbucker with a floyd.

I passed on to a younger gun much later, who too loved it. I felt it found a good home. My Lynch Kamakazi feels and plays completely different, in a good way, but the Lotus was the best balanced good feeling smooth playing guitar I've ever owned. An el cheapo at that, just hanging on the rack waiting for someone to discover it. I'm glad I did.

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

For me I would say the old Ibanez 540s ltd I used to own or my current 540PII. Those thin necks (Wizard 2's?) are just effortless. The tone and quality isnt as nice as a US Jackson but man those necks are like butter.
