btw, does anyone here knows if there were ever any MX4 and MX5 commercially sold? and better, anyone who owns actually one?

I don't know why, because I used to think they are ugly as sin... But I started to like them... I wouldn't mind an MX2 for cheap.

neck measurements for all the Maxxas models I have (both MX2 and MX3): 43mm at the nut, 17mm thickness at the 1st fret, and 20mm thickness at the 12th fret; 22 nickel medium silver frets.

The MX-2 (only 1987, +/- 200 made) included the following features: solid basswood body, Ibanez Edge tremolo system, Power Play Backstop system, Gotoh tuning machines, IBZ-USA dual humbuckers, (F1 and F2) volume pot, tone pot, beehive-style silver knobs, 3-way pickup selector, pearl dot inlays, rosewood fretboard, All Access Neck Joint, 1-piece maple Wizard style neck, and rear-mounted strap buttons

The MX3 (1988-89, +/- 300 made) differed from the MX-2 in that it had a semi-hollow Honduras mahogany body, HQ tremolo, and magnum lock tuning machines

i have owned three of them myself...2 black and one mint green...all had the edge...funny you should say that those didnt have the tone chambers in them because they sure sounded hollow when you knocked on the sides...lol...good sounding and playing guitars...but they just weren't my style...i hear they go for a helluva lot now...d.m.

I think Alex's was a prototype that still had a regular Ibanez headstock...but I definitely remember him talking about it in a GW interview back in '88 or '89 or so...
