You can get a pointy headstock if you ask for it. Its not on the options menu, but its availible (or so I have heard)

The first ever koa bodied guitar I played on was a Carvin. It made me love Koa, it seemed like it had all the qualities of mahogany but even more articulation. Plus this was a koa body with a flame koa top and it looked absolutely stunning. I think due to the difficulty in obtaining Koa Carvin has stopped offering solid koa guitars and now only offer the flame koa tops. I am not sure but last I heard that was the story. Anyways I am not sure what model it was, I think it was a DC 400 or somethign like that. The guitar played and sounded wonderful but I wasn't a huge fan of the neck. It was just a feel thing, the workmanship was top notch. The pickups were very bland. Though when split the bridge pickup had a very nice tone for playing solos. My feeling is you can't go wrong with Carvin. I'd recommend checking ebay though because you can often score really nice ones from ebay for cheap.

I was very disappointed you couldn't get a CT with a koa body when I checked several months ago. That to me would have been a killer guitar. One reason I was very keen on getting a custom with a koa body from Jackson was because I suspect in less than a decade, guitars made from Koa will be very rare because its becoming harder and harder to get.
