• good guitar for around $500-$700?

I might be in the market to buy a new guitar soon, and I am looking to spend anywhere from 500-700. I need something that is new, has a comfortable body/fast neck, has a tuneomatic bridge or something similar (just no floyd). Basicallly a guitar I do not have to put a lot of work into that will comfortable to play on and sounds nice right off the bat. I am thinking a Dean 79 V in black will work pretty well, but I will not be able to play one.

First off, do any of you dean V owner have any input about the guitar and secondly, if something would work better than the Dean, can anyone recommend it?

    Thanks,

    GMS

I've never played one, but I hear that the EBMM Sub 1 is a pretty nice guitar for the money. I think they're right in that range new. Standard trem or hardtail, Ernie Ball neck, pretty nice from what I hear.

Being the JCF forum, I have to add that there are some decent Jackson Dinky's, etc. in that price range too. Good luck!

Sub guitars are made in the USA too. They're really nice, I'd like to have one myself.

Schecter. They don't make a V but they are right in your price range and are some of the nicest import guitars you can get. Deans are nice (or they were a few years back, I heard the import quality has gone down a bit since when I bought mine).

Good call Sinistas. Used Carvins are available for 600-700 on ebay and you get a USA guitar that kicks some serious ass.

I was also looking at a Dean Hardtail... Anyone have anything to say about those guys?

used hardtail wolfgang. Would smoke anything else listed so far for playability and quality in my opinion.

Not sure what your into as far as pickups and wood choice, but I would recomend one of these hands down.

ESP LTD MH400 NT. Trans black, mahog. body, set-thru neck, quilt maple top, natral bindong on the body, white binding on the neck and HS, EMGs, grover tuners, pearl block inlays, and a tonepros locking bridge with string-thru body pircings.

They run about between 600-650 generally.

niccolai, thats one bad ass guitar

i own an esp 7 string that plays much better than my charvel model 3 - due to the 7 string neck, though. i never really got into 6 string esp guitars. playing my lead guitar player's m2 custom feels weird to me.

                            cases in point:

                            http://cgi.ebay.com/carvin-dc200-dc-200-...1QQcmdZViewItem

All within, or lower, than your price range. For a USA made neckthru. Obviously your choice in the end, but it's hard to find better deals for what you'll get.

I was going to buy a blue archtop Carvin off a friend instead of that trans black MH400nt(the one pictured is not mine) for about 700$, but I like the feel of a 'new' guitar and after the shit I've gone through with Carvin about thier amps, I don't have very much faith left in the company. The only buisiness they will be getting from me is part orders. and guitar stands.
