So where did you get this anyhow? How much? I can't stop thinking about it! [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] I love everything about it...I think it's great how the pups have no mounting rings, allowing the neck pup to be right up against the 24th fret. I wish more guitars had pups mounted direct.

I've been dyin for a 7 string and that same model was my first choice. I was kinda scared the fretboard might be crap (I see a lot of crappy pieces of rosewood on a lot of imports), but the grain and everything is beautiful. Congrats dude [img]/images/graemlins/toast.gif[/img]

It looks great, but i was just wondering why some rosewood fingerboards have the cuts in them. Like they look kind of dry(?) Anyway, nice score! I need to go try a schecter, those C-1's look pretty nice!

It's just the grain. most Rosewood just doesnt have as tight a grain as some, like Ebony.

Rosewood can dry out and crack like any other wood but, that porous grain is just it's normal character.

It can vary too, I notice more and more companies are using Palisander Rosewood instead of Indian Rosewood. Palisander has that dry look where Indian rosewood looks more uniform. My Dean acoustic is Palisander I think and my BC Rich is indian and you can see and sorta feel a slight difference. Palisander is a bit coarser as a fretboard but it still has the same sound. I can't tell if this guitar is Palisander or not, it could be. The price point is about the same (in terms of getting the wood from a supplier) so alot of times they just describe it as "rosewood".

I got it for 794 shipped in hardcase, from Drum City Guitarland. Jason was a complete pleasure to deal with!

The 26.5 scale didn't take too much adjusting at all, and if anything, it's more comfertable in the upper registers.

The one thing I really can't get over is the pickups...the 707's have this insane 'growl' that I can't describe. It's a really raunchy low middy sound, it's like the Bogner of pickups. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] Check this clip I did out; I think you'll hear the growl I'm talking about.

I'm loving it so much, and EMG can't make a 6 string version, I've been seriously contemplating putting one in the bridge of my 6 string....

Yeah, those 707s were a collaboration between EMG and Dino when he was in Fear Factory. They're like a cross between the 85 and 81.
