Here's my story. I have had my new Suhr for a week now. Since it arrived, my GMWs have sat unplayed (for the most part). I have picked them up occasionally to play them to compare necks, and have noticed something somewhat alarming. The GMW necks are not nearly as comfortable as my Suhr. The Suhr neck is rounder and thicker, making both chording and soloing easier. The GMWs, as most people here know, are thinner and have a flatter back profile. I have noticed that they are not as comfortable now that I have the Suhr to play. This is my second Suhr. The first one I owned had a profile a little more comparable to the GMWs. I recently sold it to get one just like it except with a fatter, rounder neck.
I know this is still the honeymoon period, but I am seriously considering parting with the 4 GMWs that I have left. They are great guitars, two of which I bought personally from Lee from his private collection. I just don't see them getting much playing time, and would like to possibly replace them with a couple of Suhrs. Additionally, I do have two Les Pauls that I still play, and I'm not thinking of replacing them.
This is NOT a solicitation for offers for the GMWs, but a solicitation of opinions from members here on the board. Has something similar to this happened to anyone else?
Sorry so wordy. Thanks!
