You know what, I didn't like the monkey grip feature either until I owned a Jem. You really find yourself using it and it is pretty handy. Sorry for the pun.

Shredmonster... interestingly I've always wanted a JEM and my fave was a BFP but, when I had a chance to buy one new at a reasonable price ($1K), I passed on it because the 2 particular BFP's I tried out, didn't do it for me. All other JEM variants I've tried always sounded better than BFP's for some reason. BFP neck feel is a different story though! JEM's are awesome.

I had an original DSY JEM back in the late 80's. I liked it alot but I hated the quirkiness of the neck. I had to constantly adjust it to keep it playable.

I can never find a JEM777VBK for sale but currently there are 2 FP's on Jemsite. I like FP's too but I've had my heart set on a VBK since 1980-something. Almost bought a white one like your's in 2001. I'm still Jemless to this day. Nice pics and JEMS!

Very nice!! I am also a fan of Jems I have an 89FP, and a 90BFP. Great guitars I don't get the neck profile comment though. I own a U.S. Jackson Dinky and several other makes of shredders guitars and the necks are pretty similar. I also have large hands and don't have a problem with cramping but to each his own.

I had a "floral" Jem briefly in '88. In thinking about it, the neck did rival my charvies (that I have now) in the way the unfinshed neck felt, but it was floral [img]/images/graemlins/eviltongue.gif[/img]. Kept the Jackson RR and KV instead. No regrets here.

Congrats, that's a nice pair of Jems. I've loved the Jems since they came out but the necks just don't work for us with short fingers (IMO). I've tried twice, a VSBL in '03 and a VWH in '04 - sold 'em both. It's too bad because they are such awesome looking guitars.

Nice Shawn. I would've sold you yours back for twice what I paid though! LOL. They are great playing guitars. How do you decide which one to play? Just saw the pic of the JEM mirror on Matts post.
