Well I finally got a new guitar today

...and probably much to the dismay of the entire JCF, I decided to buy a used SG that we had at work. It looks exactly like this one only not quite as dirty:

It plays quite well, which I attribute to the ebony fingerboard. The guy who bought (and returned it) right before I did put a Duncan JB in the bridge position. I might keep that, I might not, if I don't, then a 57 Classic is going in. I guess next time my band plays a show someone will take a photo of me with it so you can all see it. I love Gibsons and SG's are cool. white SG, Jake E. Lee. you are right, that ebony board on these newer white finish models is nice. I love mine on my V.

SG's are great little guitars. It's just that the EMO rise kinda ruined their image in the rest of the rock world.

White with an ebony fretboard is a great combo. I love my 1998 SG Standard.

I love SG's but could never get comfortable playing one while standing. I had one of those they made in the 80's that came with that crappy Steingberger trem. Who ever had it before me modded it to a Kahler which was ok. I hated to get rid of it cause it sounded so nice.

I love my 1968 SG Standard because its bite is between a Strat and a Les Paul in tone, and it's so comfortable, with sweet access to the upper frets. And with Angus and Tony Iommi playing SGs, you can't say it's not a great metal axe.
