Re: Kramers

I own a Kramer Stagemaster Standard which is a neck thru with a very nice arch top. It's got a single slanted humbucker (currently emg) and a recessed OFR all in a sweet Champagne finish. I have taken it to the guitar tech at the local GC for some work from time to time and he goes nuts when he sees it. Yep it plays pretty good too !

And I had a Focus 5000 the Ultra Pointy star body and three hums. Its still at work so I can play it when i want.

85' Baretta , Played to death but still the greatest guitar i have ever owned. I took it to one of the local guitar shops here and you should have seen the guy working there, He freaked out when he saw it! LOL When i go over to a buddies house with it his little brother (15yo) loves to play it. Made me feel good that some people still love those old Kramer guitars ( even if the guitars are older then them)

Re: Kramers

There was a sweet Kramer on justin's website (JCguitars). It was black with a white pickguard, floyd, and reverse headstock. It said something about being an Al Pitrelli model. I looked around and could not find anything on it. Does anyone have any information about it? I think he was selling it for $700.

Also, what do you guys think of kramer necks? I have a strat body that needs a new neck and I like the looks of the kramer necks. How would they compare in profile to a Wizard neck or the neck on a Soloist?

Thanks,

Re: Kramers

You will be wanting to get a neck with the pointy head stock if you are wanting a thinner profile. They are very fast necks. The import necks measure @ 2.20" at the heal and the American necks measure @ 2.18" at the heal. I believe you will need an american neck. Claw markers and bound neck are more expensive of course.

They are all over Ebay.

I think that was a model that they never released to the public it was just a prototype, it could have been around the time that Kramer went under

My second, and "real" guitar was an '86 Striker 600ST. It had the original Floyd II which was single-locking, and cheesy pickups. I put in a real Floyd and DiMarzio X2N in the bridge, never used the stock single coils in it. It actually sounded pretty good, even though it's made out of plywood. I've still got it (it was a Christmas gift from my parents), but it's retired since the wood screw Floyd posts have tilted forward, I took out the real Floyd and X2N.
Michael Romeo actually played it in the late '80s when I took lessons from him... he liked it, and made it sound really good! I also played a couple of his American series Kramers and thought they were cool.

Yeah, he lived in the same town as me, worked at the local music store. The chick that owned the store was a real bitch, so Mike would give me lessons either from his house or he'd come over to my house sometimes. He was cool. My mom used to say he looked a little like the guy in the poster on my wall (Yngwie). I wish I had 1/4 of the talent that he has!!
