Hamer guitar workshop

Last night I got to attend a workshop run by the founder of Hamer guitars, Jol Dantzig. It was a very informative, entertaining, and enjoyable experience to hear him talk about the history of the company as well as share stories about the famous artists he has met, played with, and built guitars for. I got him to sign the cavity cover of my '01 Artist Korina. Kind of cool to have the founder of the company sign the guitar. Keep in mind that including Jol, there are only 12 guys who work in the shop to build 3 of these guitars a day.

Those are truly quality guitars but I'm still bitter about their "we refuse to build pointy guitars" thing. No USA Scarabs, and I don't think they do Custom shop V's anymore either do they?

They'll do custom shop Vectors (round horn V's) but not the pointy Scepter V's ala Judas Priest.

I love Hamer USA guitars, but yes, they won`t build me a Custom Shop Chapparal. Funny, they`ll do V`s and Standards, but not a Strat shape [img]/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img] They claim they want to move away from thier Pointy/Shred days, but yet they`ll put a Floyd on any of their guitars they will make, including a Watson.Well, Jackson has my money now, because Hamer isn`t very flexible anymore, it`s a damn shame-really .Jack.

Actually, I had to decide which Hamer I wanted to take for him to sign. The one I got from you, Joe, ended up in third place. My 94 Mirage I that I got brand new in 94 was a close second.
