Anybody try one of these? I am leaning towards the Patriot Q. I tried one and a ESP 400AT and I really liked the fretwork and feel of the neck on the M.K. Its also about $200.00 cheaper. Any thoughts?

A friend of mine had a couple of their Les Paul copies and the fit, finish and action were really great for the money.
Nice figured tops and abalone inlays too. I thought they were really nice guitars. I don't know the Patriot Q model
    though.

I have the Patriot Shadow (the satin black one). Excellent guitar for the money, in my opinion, better than my ESP LTDs, and on a par with the LTD EC-1000 at 1/2 the price IMHO. The abalone work on the inlays is better than any other guitar I've seen. Very comfortable neck, not a LP shape, more Jackson/Charvel model series in feel, maybe a little thinner across the fretboard width. The set neck has a very cool 'scarf' type joint for more access than a Paul or LTD EC. The bridge pickup is a little dark, but easily fixed with EQ or pickup swap.

Thanks. I bought the Patriot Q in Amber Sunburst. I agree about the bridge pickup. I have a few things lying around. I will swap it out with a few and see what I can get. I'll put in a full review in a couple of days. Thanks for the help.

Where are these things made? They look pretty nice and given the cost they seem to be a good deal.

I really like mine. It is a nice compliment to my other two guitars. I have a DKMGT in cobalt blue and a Fender Esquire GT Custom in Red with the white racing stripe. I got it scratch and dent for $100.00. The nut was broken and the fretboard chipped just behind the nut on the first fret. I glued the fretboard piece back on and put a graphite nut on it. For $100.00 it screams. The harmonics are unbelievable. The Michael Kelly is getting acclimated to where I live right now. First night I played it, no fret buzz. Two days later it is starting to settle in. Just needs a good set up. Give them a look. For the price they seem like a great deal.

Would it kill them to offer something with a Floyd?

man, that valor q looks like such a cool guitar. im actually in the market for a semi cheap guitar along those lines. needs to be double cutaway, 24.75 scale with a semi beefy neck. i think im leaning toward an SG special though.
