it's the weather here on LI man. one of my oiled necks did the same thing, it's just the grain raising a bit. hit it with some 0000 steel wool then rub in some gun stock oil and let it sit for a few hours then steel wool it again and it will be nice and silky smooth!
I have found with GMWs you need to give the neck a little treatment of your own. Some boiled linseed oil (if u want to darken it a bit) or lemon oil applied with a finger or old shirt will work wonders. I light sanding with 600 grit sandpaper beforehand will open up the grain nicely. Then just a lightly hit it with 0000 steel wool afterwards. Works like a charm. I also have a method for treating the neck to break in a new nack to get that old feel kinda sorta which seems to also assist in getting the neck to be more forgiveing to seasonal changes in my experirence if you are interested.

I have a matte satin finish on my Suhr that is perfect. Feels great and doesn't need the maintenance of oiled neck. My Wolfgang is a PIA and gets all dirty. I have to go nuts cleaning it during a string change.
I have a buddy that has a GMW neck that the skunk strip is sticking out a bit towards the headstock. It is the only neck I have ever seen this happen too. I have had "hands on" with 4 or 5 different GMWs. They are, IMO, all hype.

Yeah, my 3 tite was perfect and got the raised grain when the humidity changed. This has never happened to me on my Charvel necks. I just got the guitar from Tommy and it has the same issue. I know it spent some wet months on the east coast so it sounds like humidity is the culprit
Some talk of this being a model body. Pictures clearly indicate it is not... Body was refinned at GMW. Looks to be early, maybe 81/82 by the rounded over comfort bevel. Also, aluminum control cavity covers too thin for recess. Was a platic plate prior
