• Dean Dimebag Guitars

Has anyone seen or played any of these guitars yet?
I'm tossing up between the two-tone Razorback and the Dime-Flame ML, but I havent seen any in Australia yet.
I'd greatly appreciate all your reviews, comments and real-life pictures.

I played the Dime o Flame, but didn't like the way the graphic was done. It was a real nice lookin guitar, played nice too, but the graphic looked digitized, but ya can't expect custom shop looks from an import. If it matters, I wouldn't buy one because there are many other great guitars out there in that price range. If it were a toss up between the 2 finishes though, I think the 2 tone Razor might be better, but that's all up to you

Damn, I hate printed graphics! Maybe the Braziliaburst ML would be the better option.
How much did it weigh? A good guitars gotta have a fair bit of weight for me, and theres so much wood in those shapes that I'd expect them to weigh a ton.

Are they printed graphic?
I have been wondring why they look cheap.
That's too bad..

they are surprising light compared to the old ones. i tried a few of the NEW USA's nice guitars but not the same as the early 80's ones. nice fit, finish, fret work & everything else but they just didnt feel right to me. i tried the ML, V & Z, all had flame tops binding & the works.

The first version of the dime o flame had printed graphics that looked horrible and you could see the pixels. They fixed the problem now so make sure you check the graphic before you buy.

No kiddin? Gotta check out some new models then, most dealers that have em I doubt will order another till the old one sells. But the guitar was surprisingly light. I dunno, it's probably just me, but I need some weight to the guitar. I've been used to playing my Explorer for so long that lighter guitars don't feel right on me anymore

Has anyone seen a razorback? How sharp are those points actually, as the images on the Dean website appear to be photoshopped mockups.

I'm not sure if they've shipped yet, they were scheduled for a september release, but there were holdups at the factory, possibly graphic related. Theres plenty of info on the usa rust razorback around though! Personally, I'd like an FBD and a Two-Tone razorback. Or maybe a stringthru ML79 brazilliaburst and grab a dremel and 'dime-o-fy' it myself

Re: Dean Dimebag Guitars

I used to have a mid 80's Dean ML, and compared to these new ones the old Dean was much better, just felt more solid and played better. Not that I think the new ones are bad, but I prefer the older model...just my opinion.

yeah man thats so wicked. I love dimebag's guitar but i don't think i'd ever invest in one simply because I'd be afraid of being a accused of steeling his style and thats not fun. but man is that guitar bad ass
