Single PU Les Pauls, pix wanted!

Walking in the door today I was thinking how cool it would be to have a single pick up Les Paul. I love single pick up guitars but it's not an option (at least that I know of) for Les Pauls.

So if you've got info, pix or whatever share em. Might be a springboard for me to take my bass player's Epi and mod the hell out of it.

Oh, and I was not refering to the Les Paul with the single P90, I hate P90's

Good luck. I've never seen a single pickup Les Paul, short of the Specials with a P-90.

Billy Gibbons has one but I don't have any pics - from what I remember, it looks awesome!

I picked up one of those LP Specials with the single P90 in it and gave it a whirl at the local Daddys Junky. It has the weird looking shrunken headstock on it. It was $499.00.
That had to be the crappiest looking guitar I have ever seen. Really cheap looking in every respect. Fit, finish... yuck. It just screamed CHEAP. Sorry in advance to all you owners of these craptacular guitars.

Gibson did some Historic 54 Goldtops with a single P-90. They looked awesome.

i've never seen a real one...so, i photoshopped a custom into this lol...

too bad you'd have to route it even more to get the volume knob where i put it lol.

Thanks. It's a Dinky HX, only about 100 were made in '94. I also had a red one and sold it to another board member. The pups in it now are EMGs... an 85 in the bridge and 60 in the neck. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Yeah, I find 81s a little too bright at times, too. I also like 81s in the neck. An 85 in the bridge with either a 60 or 81 in the neck is the way to go, IMO.

Since I only use the bridge pickup, that is how I would want my Paul. Too bad their CS stuff cost as much as my house [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] Jack.

It doesn't HAVE to be a gibson, there are plenty of luthiers that'll 'copy' a Les Paul to your taste for considerably less than the outrageous prices Gibson charges. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
