Gibson Artist RD

Anyone ever play one of these like the one in this ad? http://www.craigslist.org/nby/msg/106971219.html The RD is the funky looking firebird one.

I think they kinda look funky but cool at the same time.

I had one in high school in 1978/79...way too long ago to tell you what it was like.
I traded it for my first Fender Strat and never looked back.

I really want one, they look awesome. 1100 is not a bad price.

I first saw one in a thrice video and then he played it again the other night live in concert. It seems to have been one on ebay that had a BIN of 1500 and sold instantly, so yeah 1100 is not a bad price.

Wow.......
everything gibson is going up like crazy. You couldnt give these things away a few years ago. A shop I worked at had one forever tagged at 795 and it was there like 3 years.....

I think Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) has an RD Artist as one of his main studio guitars (the other is a Trini Lopez).

Ya, thats the main reason why I want one, Dustin from Thrice uses them on some songs, and records with it. They look cool. I'd totally try to get this if I had 1100 to sacrafice, I could easily buy it, but then I would have to work my ass off to catch up [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

I remember when I first started getting guitar magazines, I got an issue of Maximum Guitar that had an article on Third Eye Blind after their first album came out, and an article on Foo Fighters when Colour and the Shape came out. Both Dave Grohl and Kevin Cadogen had RDs and I have thought they were cool ever since.
