so i finally figured out what i want my next guitar to be like. i want a TOM bridge (originally i wanted to get a guitar with a high quality floyd rose, but as all my guitars have a floyd atm i figured some variety won't hurt), 24 frets, NO dot inlays, and i'd prefer a set neck or neck through, although a bolt on isn't totally out of the game
basically, i've narrowed it down to either a c1 hellraiser, a c1 blackjack, or a damien 6. i like the stock pickups and the set neck of the hellraiser, but i dislike the dot inlays (although they aren't as fugly as e.g. the dots of my charvel) and the volume/tone setup.
the hellraiser would be perfect regarding features, but it's the most expensive out of the bunch. (also see below).
the damien 6 looks quite nice, but is the cheapest out of the bunch, and you can tell by the features (EMG hz pickups, bolt on, basswood body, etc)
as i already mentioned in my previous schecter thread, i'll at least try to order it through a friend of mine who has a schecter endorsement. i still need to figure out what his deal is like (if he gets them for free or 50% or something, and if there's any limit how many guitars he can order etc), and frankly i'm even unsure whether he'd let me order or not
i just wonder if the C1 hellraiser is worth the high dollar( or € in this case ) (street price almost €1k) in comparison to the 500 euro for the damien. is the damien a "beginner level" guitar? i'd obviously change the stock pickups if i got the damien, and maybe even re-wire the volume/tone setup for 2 volumes.
i want to buy a guitar that is reliable enough to play a lot of shows, sounds GREAT, and plays very comfortable all the way up the neck. moreover, i want to record a pro level album with the guitar. i could do that with the charvel, but as i'm in the market for a new main guitar the schecter should handle it at least as well as the charvel.
last but not least, how are those guitars when compared with a japanese ibanez 550/570? i know they have a floyd and are only bolt on, but they go for 350-400 euro (used) all day long, and are said to be killer shred guitars.
thanks
