No, they were packaged much better than this, I just used the empty box to lay them down outside for pictures.

Thanks man, I was hoping all mahogany. The neck makes most of the tone on a neck thru. Maybe I will try a used one some day if the price is right. Jack.

The maple ends right before the neck pickup, so alot of the tone is coming from the mahogany. It's a nice blend. Personally, I would rather the maple be neck-through but this works just as well.

Think of it as a set neck but with a longer neck stub so you can carve away the heel and play the higher frets.

Damn ... this has probably nothing to do with the buy ... But man, that tree reflection in the finish is so awesome, that I needed about a minute to get it.
1st and 3rd pictures look like the finish is real ...
I want that kind of finish, man! Pure beauty, IMHO!
