• Fender Strats

Today i caught the Yngwie bug, i've been listen to a compilation cd of his songs and i can't stop listening. I have a Strat which i'm thinking of modding soon (big frets and new pickups) but i'd like to see some of your strats. Post anything you have (especially Yngwie strats )

Here's mine... Teal Green Metallic Hardtail. The only reason I got it is because it's got humbuckers. Most Strat "purists" think it's blasphemy to not have single coils, but I need to have at least a humbucker in the bridge. Though, with the super 5-way switch, I get the inner coils on in position 2 and the top coil of the neck in position 4.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

I have a JB Junior too, i've never really liked it I always thought that there should be more to it.

Very nice playing there by the way, very tuneful even when you're just showing some ideas

Here's mine Fender American Strat 50th Anniversary.

I wasn't thinking about any serious mod, but I did this and it satisfies my needs (for now):

Dunno ... The guitars sounds great, so I wasn't thinking about pickp-up change so far, and I probably won't.

Re: Fender Strats

I go back and forth on liking Strats. My very first guitar was a beat 1979 Strat with a rattle-can Blackie paint job. I've been through a few since, but here's my current collection...

L-R
>Modded Robert Cray Strat - hardtail (got this from a JCF brother)
>Early (1982) USA 57 Reissue in fiesta red - the paint on this one is checking a lot and has a nice vintage relic vibe to it.
>Mexican 60's reissue in olympic white
>Mexican Strat in black - killer flame maple neck (big frets and a 9.5 radius...really nice player but stock pups are a little weak.)
>Mexican Floyd Strat in midnight wine - changed the Floyd II over to an OFR. This one would be cool with a single hum.

IMO, the Mexican Strats ain't bad for the money...If I get one more, I should get a free sombrero.

Red fender strat is a mid 80s Japan model.

From the multi guitar pic:

1) VH I guitar I built from parts (70s headstock!)
2) Fender Japan 80s Floyd rose strat
3) Fernandes brad gillis sig strat
4) 90s Fender Japan strat

I also own another VH I guitar, a Charvel San Dimas USA strat ('95) and a killer mighty mite quilt top single hum strat I bought off Sully awhile back. Has a 'charvelle' logo on it
