While I like ESP's a lot (yet I only have one), Gibsons will hold their value a lot better.

If you are going to part with $1300, a historic SG, an LP Classic (or used Std), a Flying V.

Or go with a USA Jackson. Why not?

To name a few !! And btw, all WAY less than $1300.00.

I bought a CT6 at NAMM last year for 12 or 13 and really like it. It could be a good fit for what you want.
