• EBMM opinions

I'm spinning this off of the Morse topic so as to not hijack the thread.
Anybody here have any EBMM in their stable? If so, what are your opinions?
I've been looking at the Silouette(sic)for awhile, but I can't find any local to try out.

Pics are welcome if you can.

Thanks.

Re: EBMM opinions

I had a silhoutte, nice guitar. I prefer wolfgangs though over any of the EBMM stuff I've played. Some people go on about EBMM guitars having better fit and finish than the wolfs, but I really think they are equivalent, all 'hand made cork sniffing' aside.

EBMM are awesome guitars, with necks that have awesome, slick feels, and the craftsmanship is great. I have a Pet. and its a rockin' guitar.

you should check out the ernieball.com/forums, and see what the other guys think too. some cool stuff!

I hear Silhouettes are awesome guitars. Vinnie Moore uses them.

Re: EBMM opinions

I have three currently, a Silhouette, Silhouette Special and my trusty Steve Morse. I am biased regarding these guitars as I prefer my old Morse over anything I have ever played.

Basics...awesome necks, great fretwork, killer pickups, great tone and cool finishes. The EBMM forum is somewhat boring and not much happens over there. Our own Jimi D is an admin over there and a great resource for Music Man info.

well, as much as I hate to be the wet blanket, I gotta say that I cannot stand the look of these EBMM guitars. every time I see one, "what was EVH thinking? he was probably piss-drunk when he chose this design" runs through my mind, they are so incredibly ugly to my eye, and that tiny little goofy headstock is the worst looking design I've ever seen.

but hey, that's just me.

(I have heard they play great, but I can't get past the awful look.)
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

I didn't like the look initially - but it's grown on me. I've got an Axis Supersport & an EVH. Great necks to play - although the guy who sold me the EVH said that he found the necks too small as he has large hands. Sound fantastic. I haven't tried many others, but quite fancy getting a Petrucci sig. model.

it did take me a little while to adjust to the narrower neck on the axis but now it just fits me perfectly. they are great guitars.but each model has a different neck shape so you need to find some you can put your hands on to figure out which one is for you.

I have a EBMM EVH. I like it but I find myself playing my wolfgangs a lot more often.

i have owned both and i agree with pete the axis and wolfgang are really to close to call but the wolf neck feels a little wider and flatter

Re: EBMM opinions

I prefer the Wolf neck. The Axis is so tiny. The Morse is the only model they have that fits me well so that's what I ordered. The Petrucci is also great but I'm not crazy about 24 fret guitars.
