Not doing anything for me I'm afraid - that SG is just ugly

These companies are all just trying to cash in with these sig models. Gibson price wise is the biggest rip off out there...

Personally, I have no problem with signature models, but those just don't have anything that would make me open my wallet for $1000, let alone what they're actually going to cost....

OK, so there's an SG and a V that are practically stock models, but with a neck narrower at the nut. Fuck that. I'll take their old Hamers over this bullshit anyday.

KKs is a faded with a glossy finish? Shouldn't it have the output jack located on the 'wing' and the gold medallion? Also, his had the dog dick whammy bar too, right?

yeah it seems they are basicaly stock instruments with changed pickups, also it doesnt say if it has long neck tenion and usally they specify. Also not sure if you noticed the fine print but they are only sold in pairs and there are only 30 pairs being made.

My favorite part is that Gibson continues to put pearloid inlays on high-dollar guitars.

I went to a store and was playing the high end (or should I say high dollar) Les Pauls and they are no way worth the price tag they are asking. Very inconsistent work and the wood they are using looks like shit. I think if you are going to spend 4 grand on a guitar it should have a nice top on it.

So JP dropped the Hamers for Gibson with similar specs and lousier finishes. Brilliant.
Whatever, I just hope the royalty rate on a 30 piece run is excellent.

Re: New Priest models...........

i was over at George's Music on Jacksonville Beach last time i was visiting my brother and they had 4 or 5 of the "class A" (or whatever) Les Pauls that were like 4-5 thousand dollars, and my PC-1 has a better top than most of those Pauls did. i just don't see the big deal about Gibson and their prices. i find them terribly inconsistent for the money.

the JP guitars are cool but the best thing about that link was the "build your own" les paul generator. if that is all Gibson offers in their custom shop, then they are a VERY sad company that is just cashing in on their name and thier heritage.

dog Fender if you want but their custom shop kicks ass.

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

Those are dissapointing. There's nothing that sets them apart from the rest of the Gibson line. It's just a way to say it's a Judas Priest thing and get some extra cash out of the buy willing to pay for the Gibson and JP name.

I've always loved Glen's Hamers, those I would love to see hit the stores. SG's, I never got their deal, don't find them attractive at all.
