Fucking gimmick. I guess you need another string when you dont have a band. Meshuggah went slow and shit with the 8 string (except for I) I cant see there being any reason for it at all.

Dino's never not had a band. He's touring with Static-X as his band, Asesino, is the co-headliner. He's also in another band Brujeria, but not sure what they're up to lately. Check out his rhythm chops here!!

Well I'm not gonna harsh on Dino because he's got an 8 string. He's a very visible player in the Ibanez roster so why not? Rusty's said he's getting his Ibanez 8 in a couple weeks so it's not like they did not think of him. What concernes me is why they didnt put the 8 in the hands of the shredders who would make more use of the instrument's entire range as a better demonstration of what they are capable of.

It's one thing to tune your guitar down to a low G or F#, but what happens if you tune a bass that low to keep up with the guitar? Gotta be nothing but mud. Heck, I can't stand the sound of my seven-string if it's tuned down any lower than Bb.
