That's what I get for posting quickly while at work. At home, I would've googled before posting, just to make sure I don't make a complete putz of myself.

Vigier makes great guitars, I played the fretless one at Namm. Ron Thal was there to do the demo, totally down to earth guy and a superb guitar player.

I have been looking for something different. I have read the fretless ones have a lot of sustain. True? How was the tone? Are the notes articulate? Can you do arpeggios on them?

I myself have really liked the rockline series by LAG - i think the metalmaster was the best model for me IIRC.

Still , nothing beats a custom i've played in Paris - made by Antoine Querey - baritone ,set neck , floyd rose , mahogany etc. damn, that was a mighty fine guitar - one of the best i've played in my life.

Still 3000/3500 euros are a little bit much

Yeah, the Surfreter has tons of sustain and sounds really cool when you do vibrato. But the weird material they used for the fretboard makes it feels weird..
As for doing arpeggios, if you don't get lost on the fretboard, i don't see a problem.

My two cents

Surfreter is one of my dream guitars. If at any point of my life I feel confident enough with my fretted playing, I will definitely expand.

I had a Lag - it was pretty decent. The best one I played was Stephan Forte's (Adagio) custom Lag 7... but it was an artist guitar, so not sure how that compares to their production models.. good craftsmanship and a GREAT top on it though!

Wasn't it about that time that he started pimping that plastic Casio guitar? I remember the guitar ads...

Do they actually sell these anywhere in the US?
I like that first one
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil
