they only seem like they are, mine has been back to wayne's for repairs & its goin back again after Xmas. i spoke to a dealer here on LI & was told im not the only one that had major issues with his guitars. mines #116 & im the original owner, BTW wayne made at least 2 guitars serial#'d 116.

I have to ask this question. Seems like every Wayne that I see has a serial number under 150. WTF? Has he only made a handful of guitars or is he playing games with the serial numbers (or is that the 117 bomber he has done)?

Anyone know the deal?

I can only speak to the 5 I now own. All of them are under 117, and 4 are under 100. I did own one, a leopard, that was 2 hundred something, but I was not real fond of the neck profile, seems he slimmed them down later.

Like I said, can only speak to mine, and mine are outstanding guitars. Certainly hang with anything I own, and they ALL setup real low without any problem.

I can't say that about all of my newer Charvels.

Shawn the fret work was horrible, to the point of being almost unplayable with medium /low action. the floyd posts were too far forward so even with the saddles all the way back the low E still wouldnt intonate properly, & some of the other saddles were so far back the were binding against the rear of the floyd so the fine tuners did very little. its going back now because the neck is going south.
