can anyone tell me about this model other than it has just 1 humbucker, which is what attracts it to me What kinda neck do they have? I hate skinny necks Thanks-Jack.

I remember that Tommy in Throwdown used to play one. Check out the website I found today www.everythingsg.com for some info on it.

Re: Gibson SG-X ??
i own an SG-X and it's one hell of a kick ass guitar!! the neck is fatter than a typical SG (similar to a 50s LP but not 100% the same). it fits your hand real well and is one of the most comfortable gibson necks i've found. plus they tend to sound a little thicker/darker than a typical SG...some say it's due to the extra wood left from no neck pickup and the fatter neck, which i guess makes some sence. anyway, i love mine. i modded it a bit as you can see...
oh and all the SG-Xs heve the "I" (roman numeral 1) on the truss rod cover. a bit silly IMO so i replaced mine with a blank cover.

Re: Gibson SG-X ??
hey yeah! nice guitar!
Hey tom, its a thing to know, they also made another SG-X model run in '99, which had a pickguard and a cover that said "SG-X", so thats maybe why people think yours is different, when in fact, its the 1st SG-X.
man, what a mouthful, i spat out, sorry!

Re: Gibson SG-X ??
Big Black on the Seymour Duncan forum has an SG-X for sale or trade. Let him know it looks like a nice one!
