Re: Santa Comes Late...Jem BFP

I've always wanted a BFP as well, but like you say, they're all too often really beat or really expensive....

A BFP Jem in my opinion is one of the nicest looking Jems out there. That's really sweet!

Very nice Jem. There should of been more with maple fretboards.

I've never seen a Jem that color. I like it better than the other floral, though the wife would disagree. Good score.

Awesome guitars, but ive always been curious why Ibanez never went to the AANJ for the Floral models, even the newer re-issues.

Any idea's why?!? To keep "traditional" feel or ???

Well, yeah. Its a reissue.

I prefer the old neckplates myself.

Re: Santa Comes Late...Jem BFP

There's a couple of Jem questions here, so I figuured I'd chime in with some answers since I'm a Jem head myself. The original cases were pink lined, but they aren't any more. A mint pink lined case can fetch upwards of $165 bucks now. The 21-24 frets being scalloped is for note sustain, not for bending, and it does really work. The's FP's always had the old school neck joint, though I'm not sure why; the trems changed on the FPs but not the neck joint. They were only 'reissued' in the US because they stopped selling them here for a while; they were made continuously and sold continuously from '88 to '03. The BFP and FP a 77 model Jems, not 777, meaning they had pickguards and were rear routed also. The original 777s were front routed.
Anyway, nice Jem score!

OK, its here. Very cool guitar and condition is as described. The Jem neck is very thin, a little wide, and super fast. Guitar plays great and sounds good, although its not up there with what I consider my best sounding axes. I haven't spent too much time with it yet so tweaking my amp tones I'm sure will help it out. Clean it sounds amazing.
The biggest bummer is dust gets under the clear pickguard fairly easily.
Overall a very cool guitar and I'm happy with the grab.
