I want to buy a guitar with tom or stringtrough, better if it cames with emgs, i was thinking about Schecter C1 series(classic, hellraiser or blackjack) and the esp LTD (V-400,F-400,E-400 or H-400). Give me your impressions.
thanks
I have both Schecters and LTDs, and think the schecters are better overall in quality and playability. Right now, the Exotic is one of Schecter's best, with ebony fingerboard and great pickups. I have one of these and would highly recommend! (retail is $1179 and there's one on ebay for $500 buy-it-now): Schecter Exotic on ebay
I also have a Washburn X-50PROE which is very good, also has nice ebony fingerboard, and has the emgs in it already! X50 on ebay
what i like of c1 exotic: the satin finish, wonderful, remember sz prestige!
what i don't like: dot inlays.
what i don't know: pickups...that's why i prefer hellraiser on the paper.
How much the neck feels compared to an sl2h neck?
I've got a C1 Blackjack that plays awesome and sustains for days. Comes std w/ real Seymour Duncan JB & '59. It is also amazingly light for a mohogany body (not sure if they are all like this though).
I wonder if these companies use real Mahogany or some similar species of wood and call it mahogany, as most of these guitars are lighter than USA Mahogany guitars. Jack.
the blackjack is a beautiful guitar, but i'll prefer the hellraiser because it looks much metal and for the emgs,
i'll like jb/59, but i have them on my sl2h, also have jb/jazz on a charvel standard...so something new is preferred.

The pickups on the C1 Exotic suck, to put it mildly. That guitar might rock with better pickups, though. The ones I've tried in the store have played very nice. The schecter neck has a very different feel than an SL2h, however. Rounder, slightly thicker, and seemingly a bit narrower, as well. Basically, the Schecter isn't as much of a 'shred' neck. Not that you can't shred on them, though.
thank you pro-fusion, probably the neck will not like me, but i'll try
That's why i think to buy an hellraiser,it looks killer and got emgs, if i don't like i could easily resell it!
I currently have two ESP MH400NTs, one ESP LTD MH1000, and one MH300.
ESP horizons are pretty much my favorate guitars ever, and I sold my schecter C1 elite since I started buying them. Schecters are great quality built wise, but It's been my experience that they just don't sound as good and they aren't as comfortable to play. Schecter's necks are a bit to thick, and their archtops are kindof dull compared to ESPs.

More then likley they are using a less dense wood or they chambored it. I have a fender GT Tele that is about the lightest guitar i have ever played, it is set neck mahogony body and you would swear it is made out of cardboard box because of how light it is. Still sounds great but that also might be because of the Invador driving the hell out of the amp.
I believe that the Korean manufacturers use Asian mahogany, which is genuine mahogany but not as dense or heavy as the Honduran variety used by U.S. guitar makers. Definitely makes a difference in the sound.
There are alot of different kinds of mahogany and they all vary in weight, so its more likely they are using one of the lighter mahogany species. My experience with Honduras Mahogany is that its heavier but it can even vary from piece to piece within the same species. Doesn't mean they aren't using mahogany just because its light.
The C-1 Classic is probably my favorite of the Schecters because I don't like EMG's. I haven't played the Exotic yet but some people hate those Schecter USA pickups and some people love them.
