• so simple...so good

    Simplicity.

    Bolt-on
    Black
    fixed bridge
    22 frets

Yet sound + feel that is legendary!

Many of you know the beauty of these, but this is my third one and man did I get lucky. Near dead mint, 500$ usd off Ebay.

If this was a 24 fret neck and neck-thru, it would be perfect. (I added a coil tap as well)

Nothing fancy, but a great guitar!

I have been looking for a minty one just like that for a while now. I haven`t checked Ebay lately. Congrats-Jack.

Jack, that was my plan. Now that they arent in production, finding good ones that havent been beat up is tough for a good price. Lotsa guys are holding on to their flametops and such asking a PREMIUM.

For the record, I paid 500$ for this one. 2 years ago I sold one on ebay in MINT shape for 380usd (kicking myself still) and I also sold a purple flametop 4 years ago for 900$ usd in mint shape.

Theres one fellow selling some nice ones though for ~550 on the Bay! If you arent too fussy about finish/color, theres a few good ones left!

That really is simplicity at it's finest. And for that price it must be pretty good bang for the buck!
I'm maybe looking something similar as well, preferably with a tune-o-matic bridge. Weren't some of these Wolfgangs made in Korea? What models are USA made and what Korean?

Oh yeah, are those stock pickups Peaveys own design or perhaps maybe Seymour Duncan?

There were flametop's made in Korea, and IMO, they shouldnt even be called wolfgangs as they dont have the same asymetrical oil finished neck. These USA standards and Specials are built like tanks. I love how th eneck is a dual expanding truss rod with graphite inserts. It jsut DOESNT move and usually I need to adjsut guitars rods to my climate, but NEVER had to touch any of my wolves.

These are Peavey's pups, but im not sure who manufacturers them, many have said the bridge is almost identical to a Tone Zone, so they could be Dimarzio.

I am pretty sure that the pups are made by DiMarzio.

I remember reading an interview with one of the production managers and he said that, in terms of output, the pups were equivalent to a Duncan Distortion in the bridge and a JB in the neck. That is some serious horsepower.

                Great guitars.

You never picked that up on the board here did you Ivan? I remember Yet had one he was thinking of selling. Those blue archtops are selling for a PREMIUM!

I love em, I wish I could afford another arch flame, but at the end of the day, its tough to justify spendign 3x as much for a guitar that still plays the same!!!!

Love these guitars. I traded my blue archtop stoptail to yetanotherone I think... that was a sweet guitar.

I traded that Gambale for a near mint pat pending Wolf standard USA floyd - should be in early next week. Might try to see if anyone has a cool colored flametop special (green or purple) that they'd want to trade... I love the standards, but the special flametops are my favorites.

I think the ones made in Korea all had quilt veneer tops... all solids and flametops are to the best of my knowledge american.

the tops on the USA specials are thick enough that they have natural binding.
