Re: Ibanez...how are they?

I used to own a rg770 it was a deep red with matching sharktooth and headstock, maple neck.It had a red chrome like colored pickguard. It was a great guitar, but traded it within a month for a cherry sunburst custom Ibanez saber, damn I wish I still had that guitar!!

You can still get 770's for 400 or less in great shape. A little more for the ones with bound maple boards, but that's to be expected because of their rareness. Those bound wizard necks are awesome to play.

I never liked my RG560, the picking feel just seemed too "mushy".

I just got this J-Custom RG-8670, and it doesn't get much better than this in a bolt on shredder.

                Jim,

How much did you pay for that and what is the neck size? what wood etc..?

I also know the 570's also had matching headstocks on the older ones. I know this because i am getting one that has a matching headstock.

Siggy I was replying to a different post by another junior member, but that post seems to be gone now. Nothing to see here, move along folks

Well, that one is actually on eBay right now, but it's a J-Custom Rg-8670, basically up there with the best they've ever built. I'm not sure of the neck dimension in Ibanez terms, which is a bit embarrassing , but I'll check.
