  • Agile Septor 7 string..

I did not see a thread for these, so here goes...
What do you guys think of these?

I would not mind one of these in red. For the price, it seems almost too good to be true...

Seems overpriced. Something like this will probably be short lived, and less than a year from now will probably be half priced.

Hmph, considering the prices of their other stuff, I'd say these are a little high price-wise. Bolt-on neck, no binding or inlays, no maple top, etc. That should be a $250 guitar.

Stock Dimarzio Blaze pickups, blank ebony board, seems pretty reasonably priced to me. I wonder if the Hardware and electronics on them are decent quality. If you compare those to the price of a COW 7 it seems like a pretty good deal, but who knows if they compare in quality.

Agile guitars are quite underrated. The few here that own them (including myself, former owner of a Ghost) all sing their praises! This one may be a bit on the high side price-wise, but the quality is there... so you'd have to weigh the options if you wanted to plunk down the 4 clams on it. I certainly would if I were in the market for a 7 string.

looks pretty good to me for the price. I guess I think it seems like a good deal because of the ebony fretboard and the stock blazes. I like the no inlay look, however I bet the neck is way thin... Any ideas?

                    Re: Agile Septor 7 string..

Over on sevenstring.org, there are a couple of guys who've gotten the Interceptor version of this, which has a 27" neck, maple top, and trem. They've praised them pretty highly. I've been considering one of these, actually, but I'm disappointed that the string-thru version doesn't have the maple top. At this juncture, I'm probably going to stay with my RG7621 and wait until I have $$$$ for a fancier 7-string.

I'd be all over that interceptor 7 if it did not have a trem.. I suppose I could always block it off right?

You could always email Kurt @ Rondo and ask him if he has any plans for a model that more suits you. He is really good about listening to his customers. I think on HC they actually got to help design a couple of Rick-type guitars for Rondo.

If the quality is anything like their Les Paul copies, it will be worth it. I played one their LP copies this weekend, and ordered one the next day. Really, quite good guitars for the money.

I've heard nothing but good things from everyone who has owned one of these. They're comparable to Schecter. Hell, there is an excellent chance they're made in the same factory by the same people.

The Interceptor 7 string looks AWESOME, that trans green is sweet...27" scale is definitely an appealing feature, I hate having to use a 62 or something for a low B, it's so hard to intonate a string with that much physical thickness...
