Too bad Gibson keeps their room under wraps. Not many of us at NAMM will get a chance to see these.

it is open to people in the industry, just not the general public pretending to be important members of the industry or some kind of long lost rock star.

Geez, a bunch of slightly tweaked Les Pauls. How exciting.

When was the last time that Gibson came out with a successful genuinely new model? Probably 1962 or so.

Here's a new model, digital Les Paul. I don't really understand, is it supposed to be like a Variax or something?

I think it is a recording special, not a modeler.

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

I think I read about this a while ago. I'm going from memory, but I think the digital out on the cat5 cable can have the string output individually or combined. I can't remember where I read that though.

Sykes model! F*ckin' amazing news! Finally he gets some respect ... too bad they overlooked Schenker for so long he went to Dean.

The funny thing about the Sykes model is that his guitar is just a stock late '70s LP Custom with an aftermarket pickguard and switch surround. You'd get a more 'authentic' Sykes guitar by buying your own '79 LPC and adding those parts yourself. Not to mention, you'd save several thousand dollars and might get a better guitar.

But I'm weird--I'm probably the only guy around who loves those late '70s-early '80s Gibsons over the current ones.
