Uh, no new Jem! (But, I guess they may have a 20th Anniversary model or a 50K model up their sleeve still). The new Mick Thomson sig. model is in there. **CLICK ME**
That Jem on the bottom is most likely a 333 for the Far East market only to compete with the knock-offs. Although, they hinted at bringing back the DBK this year.
Yep, I like the new natural Euphoria. I think Music123 still has green EP7's on close out at $799.
Actually, if I had to choose, I'd rather have my guitar fretboard say SEVEN than HATE (don't quite know how I'd explain that to my kids).
I like the SZ series with full inlays now instead of the SZ520 with the flaming pie hole thing. The finishes of the RGA's with the Gibralter III look nice, and the S470's with the ZR trems still look tempting.
Has anyone played one of those Paul Gilbert PGM 301's with the maple board? I'm a big fan of his, and would maybe like to buy one of these. I'm wondering how they compare quality wise to J/C.
I don't know guys. I love the look of the Ibanezes and the fret access because of their neck joints. BUT - I had a Blue Floral Jem that felt cheap as hell and sounded like crap.
Honestly I have never heard an Ibanez that I have ever been impressed with the tone of.
I have seen the Paul Gilbert video playing his PGM and I thought the guitar sounded terrible. I have 3 of the G3 DVD's (including the Pettrucci one) and I have seen 2 of the G3 shows live. I have also seen Satriani live twice and have 2 or 3 Vai VHS tapes. Yngwie's guitar sounds so much better it just burries Vai and Satriani with its tone (saw that G3 live also).
Maybe there are some models that sound great and I have just never heard them - I am certainly open minded. If they had a model that sounded as good as a Jackson I would buy one because they are killer looking guitars.
But from what I have experienced their tone just not good - sound like buzz saws and thin. They seem to need to be heavily processed with Eventides and such.
