  • RIckenbacker Basses (400X)

I was thinking about playing more bass - and always like the Rickenbacker look - blame it on lemmy

Anyway, I hear they have a 'wierd' truss rod. Any service issues? Stability issues with that setup?

It's some kind of dual, removable truss setup?

No issues on the newer models that I know of. The later model 4003 is a very stable bass.
Be prepared for super low action and a very narrow neck. The older 4001's have to be strung up with very light strings. The later models and the 4003's have 2 truss rods. I don't know if its the same principle as the dual acting truss rod. I think its actually 2 truss rods.

      Thanks for the reply!
I am checking the date, but the one I'm after may already be sold - plus I don't really have the cash for it unless I do something really amazing to come up with the cash.
