    2nd Namm trip, 2nd Carvin

    I went kinda wanting a 7 string and found one I was kinda diggin at the Carvin disply, but by the time I decided to commit it was spoken for. So I went to their Santa Ana store and found another I almost bought but the top was kinda weak compared to the NAMM show one so I tried Hollywood and luckily found my favorite of the 3 and they sold it to me out the door with case for about 300 less than the price in their catalog with all the discounts even!     It's got a mahogany body, maple top and tung oiled neck

          That is awesome. Did you see the DC127 full KOA with flame KOA top and birdseye fretboard?

          I immediately priced it out as soon as I went home. hah. I want it.

                Way to go Chris!!! That is badass. You're right - that is the best of the 3 by far. Is the neck mahogany like the Santa Ana one?

                I think I'm going to be calling Carvin today to place my order.

                    No, the neck is tung oiled maple. That's the only thing I probably would have had different if they were building one.

                          I hear the 7-string pups are supposed to be pretty nice, but not too hot. I've never tried the 7s (I do want one eventually), but I've owned a few 6-strings with the standard C22T & C22N pups and thought they were sweet sounding, a little on the bright side.
