Way to go Chris!!! That is badass. You're right - that is the best of the 3 by far. Is the neck mahogany like the Santa Ana one?

I think I'm going to be calling Carvin today to place my order.

My order is placed. Whoohoo!

Very cool. I like this one the best by far and the deal was even better than he quoted me at NAMM. I was just checking out the Carvin dvd from them and Holdsworth's on there with the Fatboy.

I opted for one pretty much like the one we saw in Santa Ana except except the neck will be oiled and the top will be flamed koa with a koa headstock overlay.

I does not seem to matter that much with the straight string pull.I own a Bolt + with a OFR and it stays in tune just fine.

That is a sweet looking guitar congrats . I am thinking about getting a CT series in the near future.

Ya, I know, I was just teasing him Personally, I would get the LN option, but mostly for peace of mind and the look. Jack.

I was glad it didn't have it and I'm not all that heavy handed with a trem to begin with. Those locking nuts are more of a pain in the ass than anything else for me. And I have a CT I bought last year and love it.

That is a sweet looking guitar. I definetly don't regret buying my DC400 a few years ago, It made me a believer in Carvin's quality.

That is a gorgoeus guitar man, congratulations! I had one for a while and i was really nice. If you don't like the pickups, you can get diMarzios with the plastic bases and just Dremel them a bit, and they go right in. No woodworking necessary. You may want to get an OFR for it as well, but mine was fine with the stocker. contrats again, that's a beautiful guitar!

Do you know for sure if the OFR will fit for sure? I was thinking about that this morning. BTW I'm liking the pickups so far. Not muddy at all thru my amp.

I'm pretty sure an OFR ain't gonna work. It's just a hunch but first I'd count the number of strings on your guitar and the number an OFR can hold. Just a hunch though.

Edit:
Heh, they call the 7-string an "original" too. Dar.

Anyhoo, here's the specs:
